Sanjay Bahl is the Director General of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the national nodal agency under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology responsible for responding to cybersecurity incidents.
With over three decades of experience in ICT, Bahl specializes in governance, risk, compliance, security, privacy, forensics, investigation, and fraud management. Before joining CERT-In, he served as Chief Security Officer at Microsoft India, where he engaged with government, academia, strategic accounts, and CXO communities on Microsoft’s security policies.
Bahl has worked extensively with academic, professional, and government bodies to promote comprehensive security models and raise cybersecurity awareness. Under his leadership, CERT-In has strengthened India’s cyber resilience through capacity building, policy formulation, and international collaboration. He is also an active member of several national and global security committees.
