  • Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) will manage passenger-processing systems, cybersecurity and AI-driven technology operations at the $9.5 billion New Terminal One at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, the company said on Tuesday.

TCS has been named the terminal’s strategic technology and innovation partner and will support its digital infrastructure, enterprise applications and IT systems.

The company said the partnership was intended to improve airport operations, lower costs for airlines, and provide passengers with a smoother journey.

The Indian technology services company will use its Cognix and Ignio platforms to give the terminal operator and partner airlines greater visibility across passenger processing, baggage handling and security.

The systems will also be used to identify and address potential operational problems before they disrupt services.

“With TCS as our technology partner, we look forward to the New Terminal One earning its place among the world’s best,” New Terminal One Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Aument said.

She said the partnership would help improve the experience for airlines and passengers while establishing new standards in airport operations and innovation.

The terminal will span 2.6 million sq. ft and have 23 international gates when fully completed. It will also include about 300,000 sq. ft of retail, dining and lounge space.

The first phase is scheduled to open in 2026, with the entire terminal expected to be completed by 2030. It will become the largest international terminal at JFK, rather than the largest terminal in the US, as some accounts of the project have suggested.

The project is a central part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion redevelopment of JFK, which includes two new terminals, upgrades to existing terminals, a ground transportation center and a redesigned road network.

TCS North America President Amit Bajaj said airports were increasingly becoming integrated consumer spaces where operations, hospitality, retail and personalized services worked together in real time.

He said AI would help the terminal deliver more reliable passenger services and coordinate operations across different airport functions.

TCS generated consolidated revenue of more than $30 billion in the financial year ended March 31, 2026.
