The investment arm of The Times Group, Brand Capital, has deployed over $4 billion in media value across more than 900 portfolio companies since 2005, spanning sectors such as edtech, fintech, healthtech, retail, FMCG, and consumer services. The investor provides intellectual capital through brand strategy and media amplification via Times Group properties, tripling marketing investments for partners while enabling operational growth.
In the past year, it participated in Elever’s $1.1 million round for wealth-tech PMS in November 2025. It led KisanKonnect’s $4.5 million Series A round in January 2025 for agritech, maintaining more than 65 tracked investments with a focus on early- to growth-stage firms.
It has invested in over 609 companies and has expanded into other geographies through its international arm, Brand Capital International, which was founded in 2015. It targets startups in the US, UK, and Asia.
Six of its portfolio companies, Ola, Snapdeal, ShareChat, API Holdings, Rebel Foods, and Purplle, have become unicorns. Its earlier activity included a $0.83 million unattributed VC investment in Exoticamp (November 2024) for experiential travel and a $2.99 million Series A investment in Rocksport (April 2024) for adventure gear, underscoring 65 total investments with sustained early- to growth-stage activity.
