Arundhati Bhattacharya serves as Chairperson and CEO of Salesforce India and South Asia, overseeing the company’s strategy and operations. She joined Salesforce after a four-decade career at State Bank of India, where she became the first woman Chairperson of the institution and led it through a period of balance-sheet repair, digital expansion and structural consolidation.
At SBI, Bhattacharya previously served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Capital Markets and as Deputy Managing Director heading Human Resources, managing one of India’s largest banking workforces. Her tenure as SBI Chairperson coincided with major regulatory and capital reforms in India’s banking sector.
She holds a postgraduate degree in English and is an Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. Bhattacharya has been recognized for her contributions to trade and industry with the Padma Shri. She has featured in global rankings of influential women in business and finance.
